Tomato Papu (Dal)

Ingredients:

Tomatos
Toor Daal (Kandi Pappu)
Tamarind
Red Chilli Powder
Tumeric Powder
Onions
Chillis (Vegetable)


Oil
Popu (Tadka, Tiragamata)
Salt
Curry Leaves
Corrinder (Optional)

Process:

1. Cut the onions, chillies and tomatos.
2. Place the tomatos, toor daal, chopped onion and chillis, tamrind, red chilli powder, tumeric powder into the pressure cooker and cook it upto 2-3 whissles.
3. Add salt (as per your sufficent) to cooked dal and make it as paste.
4. At the side, keep the preparation for tiragamata as follows:
  • 2 T-Spoons of Oil
  • Garlic (Vellulli)
  • Chana dal (Bengal gram, Sanaga pappu)
  • Urad dal (Black gram, Minapa pappu)
  • Mixture of Mustard seeds and Cumin (Avaalu+jeelakarra)
  • Dried red chilli pieces (Endu Mirchi)
  • Curry Leaves
  • Ingiva
5. Now, add the cooked dal to the tiragamata, keep it for 3-5 mins.

6. Finally we can add the corriender.
