Tomato Bath With Cashew Nuts (Jeedi Papu Upma)

Ingredients:

  1. Bombay Rawa 1cup (50g)
  2. Tomato 1
  3. Carrot 1/2
  4. Onion 1
  5. Green chilli 2
  6. Ginger 1inch peice
  7. Gee (or) Oil 2tsps
  8. Water 3 1/2cups (150ml)
  9. Termeric powder 2pinches
  10. Popu (tuvar dal, urad dal, avalu, cumin seeds, dry chilli) 15g
  11. Cashew nuts 25g
  12. Curry leaves
  13. Corrinder
  14. Salt as per taste
Process:

  1. Take a bowl and fry rawa with out gee.
  2. Chope the tomato, green chillis, ginger, carrot, corrinder. Cut the onion like slices.
  3. Take a pan and prepare popu. Add cashew nuts, curry leaves and make it fry.
  4. Add onion slices, choped chillis, salt to the popu and make it fry.
  5. Add choped carrot, tomato, termeric powder and make it fry upto carrot is partically cook.
  6. Add water to the pan boil the water upto some bubbles coming on the top.
  7. Now reduce the heat release fried rawa into the water slowly and stirring with spoon.
  8. Mix it well and close the pan with a palte.
  9. Cook upto 3-4mins.Remove the plate and mix it well.
  10. Add Choped corrinder to the pan and mix it well.
  11. Now Tomato Bath is ready serve hotly with sugar, bombay chutney, papu chutney, sambar.
Note: 

  1. In this recepie i fried the rawa. why because with out fring the rawa when we realising in to the water some lumps are fprming.  To avoid that lumps i fried rawa here.
  2. It also gives some additional taste to the upma.
  3. If you want to prepare upma with out fring the rawa then 2-2 1/2cups water is enough.
